Ultrasound Technologist Maternal Fetal Medicine

Job Summary:

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer is responsible for performing detailed obstetric and fetal ultrasound examinations in a high-risk maternal fetal medicine setting. This role requires proficiency in fetal echo and assisting with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. The sonographer will report findings to physicians and collaborate closely with the maternal fetal medicine team to provide accurate diagnostic imaging for high-risk pregnancies. Strong OB-GYN ultrasound experience and outpatient clinical skills are essential. Responsibilities:

• Perform 7-9 detailed ultrasound examinations daily in multiple ultrasound rooms.
• Conduct fetal echocardiography and detailed imaging for high-risk maternal and fetal conditions.
• Assist with invasive procedures including amniocentesis, amnio reduction, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS).
• Accurately report ultrasound findings to Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians.
• Collaborate with clinical team to ensure quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
• Utilize Epic electronic medical records system for documentation and workflow.
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active ARDMS certification in OB/GYN and Nuchal Translucency (NT) ultrasound.
• At least 2 years of OB-GYN ultrasound experience, including outpatient settings.
• Proficiency in fetal echocardiography.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience assisting with invasive maternal fetal procedures (amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS).
• Ability to float within scope to support other imaging needs.

Special Considerations:

• No weekend, night, or major holiday shifts required.
• Immediate availability required with no start date delays.
• Strict interview attendance policy; failure to attend scheduled interviews may result in disqualification from future positions.
• Position open nationwide; must confirm travel and on-site presence as required.
• Scrubs may be any color with no prints.

Scheduling:

• Standard 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts.
• Dayshift schedule with no weekends or on-call requirements.
