A member of Catholic Health, Good Samaritan University Hospital, is a non-profit 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level II Trauma Center, we care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. Responsibilities
- Specimen registration, specimen accessioning, specimen sendouts
- Organization and distribution of laboratory's daily workload (specimens and pathology slides)
- Retrieving and filing of laboratory records; slides, paraffin blocks, paper records
- Tracking of materials to and from multiple lab locations
- Specimen disposal/ waste disposal in accordance with governing agencies
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Prior experience working in a lab preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-pace environment
- Understands department priorities
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- High school graduate, college education preferred
Posted Salary Range
USD $25.10 - USD $25.10 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
