Imagine a career where your efforts empower others to express themselves — both verbally and non-verbally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the welcoming community of Fort Wayne, Indiana, your daily work will transcend treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will unlock dreams, reinforce confidence, and foster connections — from young children discovering their voices to aging adults reclaiming their autonomy.
This position offers a unique blend of services, allowing you to work with diverse populations across different stages of life, offering outpatient therapy while occasionally providing inpatient support. Conduct comprehensive evaluations for diverse patient populations, leveraging standardized assessments along with observation techniques.
Craft individualized treatment strategies that focus on both short-term achievements and long-term communication and swallowing goals.
Implement therapeutic interventions that hone in on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing in personalized one-on-one sessions.
Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to formulate effective care approaches.
Provide informative resources to patients and families to enhance therapeutic progress beyond clinical visits.
Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care coordination throughout each patient's journey.
Keep precise and up-to-date documentation that adheres to all regulatory requirements.
Enhance professional knowledge by participating in continuing education and collaborative peer discussions.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet ASHA-certified.
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for all age groups, with an in-depth grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication abilities to connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Adept at tailoring therapy approaches to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic needs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to adapt to diverse patient circumstances.
Comfortable navigating electronic health records and meeting documentation standards.
Competitive salary aligned with experience.
Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance and accommodate various patient needs.
Opportunities to specialize in diverse areas including pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.

Support for continuing education and professional development.
A collaborative environment emphasizing quality care and ongoing learning.
