Ignite Communication in the Heart of the Midwest – Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where every day you help others find their voice and express their thoughts. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the welcoming embrace of Fort Wayne, Indiana, your role transcends simply treating communication and swallowing challenges. It's about unearthing potential, restoring self-assurance, and weaving connections that matter — whether it's guiding a child through their first sentences or aiding seniors in regaining their independence.
This position presents a remarkable chance to impact lives across various age groups within a vibrant community that intertwines outpatient therapies with occasional inpatient care. Whether your passion lies with pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic disorders, or geriatric language rehabilitation, this environment will allow you to flourish and adapt based on your interests.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
Create custom treatment plans that cater to both immediate milestones and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions with an emphasis on language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to develop cohesive care approaches.
Educate patients and their families to empower them in continuing progress beyond the clinical setting.
Support occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring that the continuum of care remains intact throughout the recovery process.
Maintain up-to-date and precise documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing professional education and collaborative learning with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Must possess a state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Flexibility in adapting therapy techniques to serve diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgement and adept problem-solving capabilities.
Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
Attractive compensation reflective of experience.
Flexible scheduling to promote work-life harmony with varied caseloads.
Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
Support for continuing education and professional development.
A collaborative, team-oriented environment that emphasizes quality care and lifelong learning.
