Ultrasound Technologist

Employment Details Employment Type: Full time Shift: Night Shift (3rd shift, mostly 8‑hour shifts) Location: Byron Center (primarily at the Byron Center location, supporting OP and on‑site ED) Position Summary The Ultrasound Technologist performs a wide variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and produces high‑quality diagnostic images. This role explains patient preparation, patient scheduling, procedure instructions, and processes to patients in addition to working with radiologists and physicians in a manner that improves patient care. Responsibilities Perform ultrasound procedures and operate all machines safely. Assist radiologists with invasive procedures. Articulate exam results, as directed by the radiologist, to physicians, nurses, and patients. Assess and monitor patient condition during procedures. Perform clerical and support functions associated with the ultrasound process. Properly instruct students in on‑the‑job clinical. Demonstrate customer‑service skills and find ways to better serve patients. Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills with patients, clients, hospital staff, and all radiology staff. Help maintain adequate supply inventory. Requirements Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Certification or re‑certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (RDCS for Cardiac) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB or AB and Vascular RVT certification, or ability to attain credentials within one year of hire. Once registered, maintain registry status in compliance with the continuing education requirements of the certifying organization for the imaging modality in which services are performed. Preferred: Registry in OB, AB and RVT. Graduate of a two‑year program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP). Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited CAAHEP program. Preferred: One or more years of ultrasound experience. EEO Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
