Position Details Medical Surgical Clinical Supervisor Location Mercy Hospital South – 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128 Schedule Full‑Time | 36 hours/week | Monday–Thursday (4×9 hr. shifts) Shift Nights | 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Overview Join our team at Mercy Hospital South as a Medical Surgical Clinical Supervisor, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective patient care. In this leadership role, you will guide and support clinical teams, promote a culture of excellence, and help shape the future of patient care through servant leadership. What You’ll Do Lead and support competent, compassionate co‑workers in delivering exceptional patient care. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and collaborate closely with the Staffing Office on patient flow and bed management. Use resources efficiently to meet productivity and financial goals. Partner with clinical leadership, physicians, and administrative teams to enhance workflows and improve processes across the continuum of care. Inspire and model a shared vision—encouraging change, professional growth, and continuous improvement. Mentor, guide, and empower co‑workers to become leaders of change within the organization. Provide meaningful recognition and foster a positive, engaging team culture through servant leadership. Hold direct and indirect caregivers accountable for professional responsibilities, adherence to policies, and regulatory standards. Participate in performance evaluations in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. Demonstrate Mercy’s Mission, Values, and Service Standards in all interactions. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations. Experience: 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications Education: BSN preferred Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred Experience: Prior management experience - experience within change management Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties Why Mercy?
