Engage Young Adult Transitions is a therapeutic community program dedicated to helping young adults (ages 18-30) overcome mental health challenges, build life skills, and transition to independence. We provide customized clinical care, life coaching, and comprehensive academic support for young adults navigating learning differences, executive dysfunction, and emotional roadblocks. Job Title: Contracted Tutor Location: Cedar City, UT Job Type: Contract Position Overview: We are seeking an empathetic and experienced Contracted Tutor to provide individualized academic support to young adults in our program. You will help clients succeed in diverse educational pathways, whether they are completing a high school diploma/GED or navigating college coursework (such as at Southern Utah University or Southwest Tech). You will work closely with our Academic Coordinator to help students not only master subject material, but also build the executive functioning skills needed for lifelong academic independence. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to the student's specific academic pathway (high school completion, college courses, or technical training). Assist students in developing critical executive functioning skills, including time management, organization, accountability, and study habits. Collaborate with the Academic Coordinator, case managers, and life coaches to align academic goals with the student’s broader developmental plan. Adapt teaching and coaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and challenges, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and anxiety. Monitor and report on academic progress during collaborative team meetings. Qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, a specific academic discipline, or a related field. Proven experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic coaching, particularly with young adults or neurodivergent learners. Understanding of learning differences, executive dysfunction, and mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, depression, ADHD). Patient, empathetic, and encouraging communication style. Ability to pass a Utah state background check. Schedule & Compensation: Flexible, part-time contract hours based on student enrollment and needs.
