Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 Sign-on Bonus for External CandidatesAbout the RoleOptum NY/NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support its OBGYN team in Carmel, NY. In this patient-focused role, you will provide direct clinical support, coordinate care with providers and care team members, and help ensure a seamless experience for patients throughout their visit. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians while contributing to high-quality women's healthcare.Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist physicians with clinical procedures.
• Escort and prepare patients for examinations in a timely manner.
• Obtain vital signs, perform vision screenings, and complete authorized clinical tests.
• Support physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers during exams and treatments.
• Process laboratory specimens accurately and ensure appropriate documentation in EPIC.
• Prepare e-prescriptions for provider review and maintain clinical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care office or heavy surgical department (plastics, dermatology, or urology), OR
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification from one of the following organizations:
  • NAHP
  • NCCT
  • AAMA
  • AMT
  • NHA

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $16.15 - $28.80 per hour
