Director of Accounting

Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead key accounting operations, financial reporting, and technical accounting initiatives within a regulated financial services environment. Responsibilities Lead monthly and quarterly close activities, consolidations, and financial reporting. Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memorandums for complex transactions. Review financial analyses, key accounting estimates, and performance trends. Oversee internal controls, account reconciliations, and SOX compliance efforts. Support internal and external audits, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparation. Supervise and mentor accounting staff while partnering with cross-functional finance teams. Drive continuous process improvements and enhancements to accounting systems and workflows. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience. Required experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting principles (STAT), SEC reporting, and technical accounting research. Experience with financial reporting, regulatory reporting, audits, and internal controls. ERP experience (Oracle or similar preferred). Proven leadership, analytical, and communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
