Montvale, NJ area | Hybrid / Remote on Fridays

Monday - Friday | 8am to 4:30pm

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to provide outstanding support to customers while working closely with sales and other internal teams. This role is responsible for processing orders, coordinating shipments, resolving customer inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the order lifecycle. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and other communication channels, providing accurate information and timely resolution to questions and concerns.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional, responsive service.
• Process customer orders by reviewing requests for accuracy and entering information into the order management system.
• Coordinate outbound deliveries and inbound returns, ensuring shipping documentation is complete and compliant with transportation requirements.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Finance to facilitate efficient order fulfillment and clear communication across departments.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, requests, and resolutions within the company's CRM system.
• Assist customers with order status updates, account inquiries, product information, and general service needs.
• Review customer return or credit transactions, verify applicable adjustments, and communicate final totals and account credits as needed.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to help resolve payment inquiries, customer credits, and outstanding balances.
• Follow established procedures while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Occasionally travel to support business needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similar environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using CRM software, ERP systems, or order management platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer-focused with strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
