Our organization is seeking an Acute Occupational Therapy Supervisor to become part of our team at a prominent hospital in the Washington area. This position primarily focuses on supervisory responsibilities, while also involving some direct patient care as necessary. You will be leading a small group of occupational therapists within our 900-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center.

As the Acute Occupational Therapy Supervisor, your role will encompass delivering occupational therapy services to patients. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting screenings and evaluations, developing treatment plans, implementing treatments, reassessing and revising treatment strategies, re-evaluating patients, planning for discharges, and maintaining documentation. You will also assist in managing daily operations in collaboration with leadership, ensuring effective short-term scheduling and coverage for team members. Your responsibilities will include working alongside leadership to enhance the efficient use of quality services, engaging in program development and improvement initiatives, and helping to establish systems for managing referrals and communicating with key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations and treatment services, which include reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and documenting recommendations and results. Clearly communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and their families, involving them in goal-setting. Exhibit proficiency in executing treatment protocols and consult with other healthcare professionals as necessary. Document any changes in a patient's condition and demonstrate independence in clinical practice, guided by analytical processes and evidence-based methods. Take the initiative in pursuing continuing education for personal and organizational growth, while actively supporting the department's strategic objectives and providing clinical development assistance to meet departmental needs.

• Foster an exceptional customer experience and ensure easy access to care. Show a professional commitment to providing seamless patient access through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic actions in a patient-centered environment. Participate in team efforts to eliminate barriers to access. Oversee daily operations as directed by leadership, which includes assisting with staffing coordination and patient scheduling, collaborating with team members to meet productivity goals and service demands, engaging in utilization and peer review activities, and providing ongoing feedback to team members regarding their performance and strengths to facilitate goal achievement. Assist with performance evaluations and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.

• Support the selection, training, and orientation of staff as directed by leadership. Engage in decision-making and problem-solving within the department, service line, and discipline that impacts patient care. Identify opportunities for process enhancements, the need for task force creation, special project development, or the implementation of evidence-based practices. Collect and monitor data to ensure quality outcomes and assist in the development and review of clinical policies under the guidance of leadership.

• Contribute to program development, expansion, and improvement alongside leadership and other team members. Facilitate communication and collaboration with physicians and other stakeholders across the care continuum as applicable. Actively participate in teams and committees to promote the service line's objectives. Coordinate community outreach and formal marketing initiatives to raise awareness of programs and services among potential patients and referrers. Assist in developing and managing referral processes.

Qualifications:

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

• Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the District of Columbia (DC).

• Certification in CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).

• 3-4 years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation setting, demonstrating expertise.

Compensation: This position offers a salary range of USD $89,065.00 - USD $162,801.00 per year.
