Job Description

The Warehouse Receiver plays a key role in ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately verified, safely unloaded, properly stored, and promptly recorded in the inventory system. This position focuses on inspecting deliveries with close attention to detail, handling and moving heavy items, and supporting efficient receiving processes by resolving any discrepancies or issues with orders and deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Verify delivered items against purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Inspect deliveries to confirm they meet order specifications and invoice criteria, identifying any discrepancies or damage.
• Receive and sign for deliveries in a timely and professional manner.
• Unload deliveries from trucks safely, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Process returns for incorrect, damaged, or unsatisfactory items in accordance with established procedures.
• Organize and store received items in appropriate warehouse locations to support efficient inventory management.
• Update inventory records and warehouse management systems with details of received items.
• Communicate with vendors regarding delivery delays, discrepancies, or other receiving-related problems.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery details, returns, and inventory updates.
• Follow warehouse safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Support overall receiving efficiency by identifying and helping resolve process issues as they arise.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous warehouse experience in a receiving or similar role.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items, including loads up to 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and inventory records.
• Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations and safe material handling practices.
• Physical dexterity to perform manual handling, unloading, and movement of goods.
• Experience operating in a warehouse environment, including familiarity with standard equipment.
• Computer experience using Warehouse Management Systems and inventory software programs.
• Knowledge of data entry procedures for updating inventory and receiving records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse management systems and related software.
• Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, Oracle, or similar inventory and logistics platforms.
• Background in warehouse receiving operations and processes.
• Ability to work effectively on a structured second-shift schedule.
• Attention to detail when inspecting deliveries and verifying documentation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
