The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grand Haven that are seeking CNC Swiss Lathe Operators. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes for production runs.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools to ensure quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, adjusting offsets and parameters as needed.
• Load and unload bar stock, maintaining proper material handling procedures.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Document production activities, including part counts and quality checks.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Experience with tool changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments.
• Strong understanding of various metals and cutting tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles
• Previous experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives
