About the Position

Job Opportunity – Neuro Surgical Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Coastal North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week, night shift, 1:5-6 patient ratio, 12-16 weekend shifts per contract

Highlights:

• Neuro surgical procedures and neurological diagnoses including CVA and telemetry
• EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management
• 13-26 week contract length options available
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and respiratory services
• Two orientation shifts on unit after hospital-based orientation
• Flexible weekend scheduling with unit discretion

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Current North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and NIH stroke scale preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Neuro experience strongly preferred
• Skills in telemetry, IV management, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to float and participate in storm/hurricane team as needed
