Construction Project Manager

Overview Wunderlich-Malec Engineering (WM) is a 100% employee-owned ESOP and one of the largest and most well-established engineering companies in the United States. WM joins employees in ownership and offers a strong industry history and reputation. Position Construction Project Manager — Dallas, TX (Addison) office. The Project Manager will assist the Business Unit Manager in achieving the overall strategic objectives of the company. Primary responsibilities include project management, project delivery, and total quality management at client sites. The Project Manager is expected to marshal the necessary resources to fulfill the firm’s contractual obligations and to contribute technically through their own efforts. Responsibilities Manage projects that deliver engineering solutions to clients, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations Develop and administer project budgets, fiscal controls, and quality control provisions; perform project cost estimating and value engineering as appropriate Represent the firm in interactions with clients, consultants, contractors, and other agencies Participate in business development and quality assurance as directed by the Business Unit Manager Provide technical assistance in proposal development, presentations for new work, and reports and studies; support project delivery Other duties as assigned by the Firm’s Principals and client managers Qualifications Requires 5–10+ years related experience Demonstrated knowledge in project management, mechanical system concept development, design and layout; project budgeting and scheduling; preparing technical sections for project and procurement specifications; reviewing drawings and technical specifications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong understanding of electrical engineering, design and documentation principles, practices and standards; knowledgeable about materials and systems; thorough knowledge of engineering detailing and construction methodology Applied understanding in the delivery of projects Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Project Manager is not required to be a licensed professional engineer. PMP Certification preferred, but not required. The Project Manager is expected to represent WM’s service offerings to clients and to describe the business value associated with WM’s services. The role involves collaboration with client site management and staff for daily work duties as assigned. Working Environment and Physical Effort Work is performed in typical office and industrial manufacturing environments.
