Accounting Assistant

Job Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the Healthcare/NHS industry located in Vernon, Connecticut. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth month-end closings. Responsibilities Accurately record daily transactions and ensure proper categorization of entries. Assist in preparing for month-end closing, including compiling and reviewing financial data. Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Maintain and update financial records and databases. Generate reports as needed to support financial analysis and decision-making. Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing and organizing documents. Utilize accounting software and systems for efficient functioning. Handle customer inquiries related to their accounts. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Perform auditing tasks and bank reconciliations as part of the regular duties. Qualifications Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services. Experience with CaseWare and Concur. Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. Familiarity with Accounting Functions. Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Knowledge of Auditing principles and practices. Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations. Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related field. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Knowledge of Healthcare/NHS industry would be an advantage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
