Job Description

This role involves performing commercial roofing tear-offs and re-roofs from start to finish, including installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of roofing systems. You will work on commercial projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and effective collaboration with the on-site team.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace commercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, and built-up roofs.
• Measure, cut, and fit roofing materials accurately according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
• Install insulation, vapor barriers, flashing, and waterproofing systems to ensure durable and weather-tight roofs.
• Align and securely fasten roofing materials using adhesives, mechanical fasteners, or heat welding techniques.
• Inspect existing roofs to identify leaks, damage, or wear and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Remove old or damaged roofing materials and prepare roof surfaces for new systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, patching, and emergency repairs to extend the life of roofing systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate and compliant installation.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment such as lifts, torches, and cutters safely and effectively.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites before, during, and after work is completed.
• Handle, load, unload, and transport roofing materials safely across the job site.
• Follow OSHA and company safety protocols at all times, including proper use of fall protection and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work safely at heights, on ladders, scaffolding, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications.
• Collaborate with crew members, foremen, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Communicate job progress, issues, or material needs clearly and promptly to supervisors.
• Occasionally interact with clients or site managers to discuss project scope, timelines, or site-related questions.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in roofing, preferably on commercial roofing projects.
• Hands-on experience with installation, repair, and replacement of commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, and built-up roofs.
• Strong knowledge of various roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, asphalt shingles, and metal roofing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment such as lifts, torches, and cutters.
• Ability to measure, cut, and fit roofing materials accurately.
• Capability to work safely at heights and on ladders in a variety of weather conditions.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices, including fall protection and PPE use.

Work Environment

This position is field-based on commercial construction sites, working primarily outdoors on roofs in varying weather conditions. The role is physically demanding and involves lifting materials, standing, climbing, and moving throughout the workday. The work environment requires strict adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. This is a Permanent position based out of Johnson Creek, WI.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
