Senior Accountant

Client Overview:

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$85k - $100k

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will join a growing accounting team and play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of accounting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

• Manage and support the monthly and year-end close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
• Analyze account balances and investigate variances.
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal departments on accounting-related matters.
• Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with an ERP or accounting system.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:

• Experience preparing financial statements.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
• Public accounting or audit experience.
• CPA or CPA-track experience.
• Experience working in a multi-entity or growing organization.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
