We're seeking someone to join our team as an Executive Director in Global Financial Crimes (GFC) to be the Head of Wealth Management (WM) and Bank GFC Program Management and Strategy. In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Executive Director level position within the WM and Bank GFC Advisory team which is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the overall financial crimes program for the Firm's WM, U.S. Banks, and digital platform businesses, including E*TRADE, and MS at Work. Global Financial Crimes (GFC) coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC includes several legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight, and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Tax Evasion and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. What you'll do in the role: Leading a team responsible for delivering the following for WM and Banks in coordination with business segment GFC Advisory leads and other key stakeholders: Managing responses to regulatory exams and internal audits, and associated remediations Preparing and vetting materials for relevant management and risk governance committees Providing guidance to centralized metrics and risk assessment teams Reviewing new product proposals and developing policy and process frameworks to address new business initiatives Coordinating GFC stakeholders with respect to client selection and emerging risk reviews Providing advisory oversight of technology and platform initiatives, in coordination with GFC Change Management Partner with the GFC Investigations and First Line business teams in initiatives to proactively identify and stay ahead of emerging financial crimes risks Liaising with department management on program administration issues impacting WM and Banks, including budget, vendor and personnel issues Serve as a point of escalation on financial crimes questions and provide support in connection with interpretation of regulations and Firm policies Liaise and coordinate within GFC and with key stakeholders across the Firm, including Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Relations, and Risk, to ensure appropriate execution of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crimes prevention program What you'll bring to the role: 10+ years of experience in financial crimes laws and regulations within financial services and/or a financial services regulator. Demonstrated leadership with the ability to model collaboration, sound risk judgment, precision, and innovation within a global organization. Deep functional knowledge of Wealth Management and Banking businesses, including AML, KYC, and sanctions rules, regulations, policies, and processes. Highly motivated self starter with strong project and process management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex workflows and maintain exceptional attention to detail. Proven ability to convene, influence, and align stakeholders to advance Global Financial Crimes (GFC) strategy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; articulate, poised, and effective in engaging senior management and business partners. Trusted partner who exercises discretion with highly confidential information and builds strong, collaborative relationships across global teams. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
