Business Unit: 24400 Judicial Specialist 2 #00033416-24400, Full‑Time, Perm in Albuquerque, NM # of Positions: 1 Administrative Office of the Courts Opening & Pay Opening Date: 07-06-2026 & Close Date: 07-17-2026 Target Pay Range/Rate: $22.750 per hour or $47,320 annually Job Overview The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court is recruiting for a full‑time, permanent Judicial Specialist 2 in the Background Investigations Division in Albuquerque, NM. The role manages court cases in a court of limited original jurisdiction, performs in‑depth records checks, handles fines, fees, bond payments and maintains case information in an automated case management system. Key Responsibilities Open, docket, and close cases based on verdict details using the case management system. Provide customer service information to pro‑se litigants, delivering procedural guidance without legal advice. Enter case data, navigate event codes, scan documents, create and review case files. Assess, record, and reconcile monies, prepare bank deposits, maintain cash till and court fee accounting. Process and expedite orders of protection and bond disbursements; prepare bond reports. Manage electronic filing review, format checks, event codes, and filing fees. Generate and mail out documents such as notices, final orders, and jury summons. Prepare jury trial materials: alpha list, random list, voir‑dire sheet, seating chart, and related case files. Maintain case records, exhibits, and ensure court equipment is operational. Serve as court monitor, assist junior courts, and participate in Specialty Court programs. Assist with jury trial calendar requests and internal staff advisement on jury procedures. Perform general clerical and technical duties, including answering phone, correspondence and office supplies maintenance. Coordinate with Specialty Programs at the Court and manage exhibits, hazardous or dangerous items, and recording equipment. Other duties as assigned. Competencies & Qualifications High school diploma or GED; two years of court case processing experience or equivalent. Knowledge of legal terminology, filing methods, case processing, specialty court programs, research methodology, project management and court fee accounting. Experience with NCIC training and certification; ability to keep certification current. Typing certification (≥35 net words per minute) within five years; NM Court Monitor certification may be required. Strong organizational skills, communication, stress tolerance and ability to work independently. Work Environment & Physical Demands Work performed in office or court setting, may require a valid driver’s license and travel, possible overtime and rotating shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).
