This role is seen as an entry level position and reports to the Director, Marine Operations, supporting the development of marine operations, across Venture Global LNG by working closely with the LNG terminals, various marine sectors and multiple internal and external departments. General Description:The Marine Advisor shall provide support to Venture Global LNG (VG) staff, contractors, suppliers and other personnel involved in the marine operations at VG LNG terminals. The Marine Advisor will provide technical support to the Marine Department, ensuring efficient coordination of day-to-day operations. This role will act as a key liaison between the Marine Department, internal stake holders, and external partners. The position focuses on documentation, compliance support, marine assurance, scheduling, reporting, tracking, accounting and managing marine RFO’s, SharePoint sites and team meetings.Reporting Lines:Marine Advisor reports directly to the Director, Marine Operations.Responsibilities:Work with marine personnel to ensure safe, reliable, cost effective and environmentally responsible operationsAssist in the development of procedures for VG LNG terminalsSupport all marine activities across all projects and terminalsSupport VG capital project development and execution, including maintaining RFO, managing timeline etc.Work with VG contracting team to develop SOW, contract evaluations, presentations to leadership and contract executionDevelop, maintain and review marine documents and records related to marine terminal operations, with focusing on continuity between terminals and operational proceduresAssist in the development and management of marine assets across all projects.Provide oversight of regulatory and environmental complianceAssist in conduct safety audits to help build a positive safety culture that promotes learning and sharingDeliver effective, fit for purpose marine advice, support and problem solving based on best practices, reasonable care standards and due diligence models.Operate safely within Industry, Company, National and International standards and regulatory requirements.Manage marine SharePoint site, documents and assure there is continuity with all documentation across VG TerminalsCoordinate and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and action itemsSupport audits, inspections and reporting requirements (internal and external)Qualifications:Some marine experience, having knowledge of LNG tankers, COC inspections, LNG terminal inspections etc.Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Logistics, related field or 5 years of work experienceFamiliarity with maritime regulations (USCG, IMO, ISGOTT, SIGTTO)Experience: This is seen as an entry level position and is ideally suited to someone looking to transiting ashore, or continue to grow and build on their marine background and knowledgeBasic knowledge, experience and understanding of LNG takers, terminals and coordination roles is not essential, but is beneficial.Basic knowledge of project development, from concept, through the contracting execution, overseeing project deliverables, providing report and final inspection and sign of upon completion is not essential, but is beneficial.Proficient with IT applications (Power Point, Excel and Word)SkillsAn acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment.Ability to work in fast passed, dynamic environmentAbility to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization Professional, proactive, organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy, able to meet work deadlines. Problem solving and analytical skills. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) cardAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretionWork Conditions:Job is performed in an office and industrial plant environment. National travel can be expected.Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors & outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise.
