Accountant

Staff AccountantLHH is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role will support general ledger activities, account reconciliations, month-end close, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and is comfortable working with Excel and ERP systems. The role is contract to hire and paying $55-60,000.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general ledger account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, and fixed assetsPrepare journal entries, primarily related to prepaid expensesSupport month-end close activities and ensure accounting deadlines are metProcess accounts payable transactions and assist with invoice-related activitiesPerform bank and account reconciliationsTransfer and maintain accounting data from Microsoft Access into Great PlainsResearch unapplied cash and assist with correcting and posting transactions to the appropriate accountsAssist with the preparation and maintenance of financial and accounting reports in ExcelSupport audits by reviewing and providing documentation for vendor invoices and labor timesheetsAssist with additional accounting projects and duties as neededQualificationsAssociate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not requiredMinimum of 2 years of general ledger accounting experienceStrong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, debits and credits, and basic accounting principlesExperience with Great Plains or another ERP system is a plusAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
