Accountant

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role will support general ledger activities, account reconciliations, month-end close, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and is comfortable working with Excel and ERP systems. The role is contract to hire and paying $55-60,000.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
  
• Prepare journal entries, primarily related to prepaid expenses
  
• Support month-end close activities and ensure accounting deadlines are met
  
• Process accounts payable transactions and assist with invoice-related activities
  
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
  
• Transfer and maintain accounting data from Microsoft Access into Great Plains
  
• Research unapplied cash and assist with correcting and posting transactions to the appropriate accounts
  
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial and accounting reports in Excel
  
• Support audits by reviewing and providing documentation for vendor invoices and labor timesheets
  
• Assist with additional accounting projects and duties as needed
  

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required
  
• Minimum of 2 years of general ledger accounting experience
  
• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, debits and credits, and basic accounting principles
  
• Experience with Great Plains or another ERP system is a plus
  
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  

Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
