Medical City Fort Worth Registered Nurse – ECMO Specialist PRN PRN Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care, performing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy to support patients with impaired heart and lung function. The RN serves as an advocate for patients and supports an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response. Prepare and operate clinical equipment and circuitry per ECMO policies. Maintain and assess ECMO circuit function. Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and recommend revisions to the multidisciplinary care team. What qualifications you will need Advanced Cardiac Life Support required. Basic Cardiac Life Support required. Registered Nurse in Texas or compact state required OR RRT required. Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree. 1 year ECMO experience required.
