Laboratory Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for patients and staff.
• Accurately record and maintain documentation related to blood collection and processing.
• Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and fostering a trusting environment.
• Perform in accordance with process excellence standards, demonstrating leadership behaviors and attention to confidentiality.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and ensure timely completion of daily tasks.

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for patient interactions and documentation.
• Keyboard and data entry proficiency.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over 1 year preferred.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Reliable personal transportation to the worksite; candidates must commute within 20-25 minutes of the job site.
• Must be available to work scheduled shifts, be punctual, and commit to entire shifts without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
• Customer service or retail/service experience is a plus.
