Bakery Associate

K-Slope Marketplace is seeking a dependable and organized Part-Time Bakery Associate to prepare and bake fresh breads, pastries, and other baked goods for daily display.. . This position will primarily involve baking frozen dough, par-baked breads, and ready-to-bake bakery products according to established instructions and production schedules. The Bakery Associate is responsible for ensuring products are baked properly, packaged, labeled, and displayed during the store’s morning hours.. . In addition, the bakery associate will be responsible for some general cheese displays, deli merchandising prep, and other various duties around the bakery / deli location (excluding service counter).. . This is a morning position working around 20 hours, 6 days per week. Starting pay is $17.00/hr. . Key Responsibilities. Baking and Production. Prepare and bake frozen dough, par-baked breads, rolls, pastries, muffins, cookies, and other ready-to-bake products.. Follow product instructions for thawing, proofing, baking temperatures, and baking times.. Monitor products throughout the baking process to ensure proper color, texture, and quality.. Finish products as required, including glazing, icing, sugaring, slicing, or applying toppings.. Follow the daily production schedule and ensure bakery displays are stocked before peak shopping hours.. Adjust production quantities based on inventory, sales patterns, and management direction.. Packaging and Display. Package, weigh, label, and price finished bakery products accurately.. Arrange breads and baked goods neatly in bakery displays, tables, and cases.. Keep displays full, clean, organized, and visually appealing.. Rotate products using First-In, First-Out procedures.. Remove expired, damaged, or poor-quality products from display.. Inventory and Waste Control. Monitor supplies of frozen dough, par-baked products, packaging materials, labels, and bakery ingredients.. Inform management when products or supplies are running low.. Follow production quantities carefully to reduce overproduction and waste.. Record damaged, expired, or discarded products when required.. Food Safety and Sanitation. Follow all company food-safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures.. Maintain a clean and organized bakery preparation area.. Clean ovens, proofers, racks, trays, utensils, worktables, and other bakery equipment.. Store frozen, refrigerated, and finished products properly.. Safely operate commercial ovens, proofers, slicers, and other bakery equipment.. Customer Service. Provide friendly and courteous assistance to customers.. Answer basic questions about bakery products, ingredients, prices, and availability.. Assist customers with selecting or locating bakery products.. Notify management of customer special-order requests.. Qualifications. Previous bakery, grocery, food-service, or kitchen experience is preferred.. Ability to carefully follow written product and baking instructions.. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently during early morning hours.. Strong attention to detail and product presentation.. Ability to manage multiple products with different baking and proofing times.. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.. Basic English communication and reading skills are preferred.. Physical Requirements. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.. Ability to regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull.. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.. Ability to safely handle hot trays, baking racks, and bakery equipment.. Ability to work around ovens, freezers, refrigerators, and changing temperatures..
