Job Description The Division continuously seeks qualified candidates for adjunct faculty teaching positions. Adjunct faculty will deliver graduate‑level courses in Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations. Responsibilities of UMKC Part‑time Faculty Members Create and maintain civil and engaging learning environments. Deliver curriculum through high quality course instruction. Assess student learning of course objectives: Use a variety of evaluation methods. Use the early alert system (UMKC Connect) to identify students at risk of failing. Provide students with prompt, objective, fair feedback on their work. Assign grades and maintain student records in accordance with university policy. Adhere to and model university standards of professionalism. Be accessible to students for conferences and consultations. Engage in critical self‑reflection and professional development. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Appropriate degree for the level of class being taught. Experience or training relevant to the content area being taught. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to urban issues. Licensure or certification, if applicable. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching at the university level. Familiarity with various online management systems (e.g., Canvas). Anticipated Hiring Range A flat adjunct salary is determined based on level of education and number of courses being taught.
