Chief Perfusionist - Responsibilities

• The Chief perfusionist oversees and manages perfusionists, ensuring they are properly credentialed and meet performance standards.
• The Chief perfusionist ensures adequate staffing levels and support for both scheduled and emergency cases, coordinating with relevant teams.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to perfusionists and staff, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient care.
• The Chief perfusionist acts as a liaison between the perfusion team and the operating room (OR) clinical staff, facilitating communication and collaboration.

Chief Perfusionist - Requirements

• Must be board-certified through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• Graduated from an accredited Allied Health Education Program School of Perfusion Technology.
• Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Must have certification in Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum of 5 years with at least 750 clinical cases.
