Midwest / Great Lakes Territory Sales Manager – Metal Roofing

Territory: Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky
Job Type: Full-time, remote with 50%–75%+ travel

Our client, an industry leader in engineered rooftop attachment solutions, is seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager to grow its presence throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes region.

This relationship-driven role will focus on expanding sales through contractors, distributors, architects, engineers, and installers. The ideal candidate has proven metal-roofing sales experience, established relationships throughout the territory, and knowledge of snow-retention, solar-mounting, or related rooftop systems.

Compensation

• $100,000–$120,000 base salary
• Uncapped commissions
• Strong overall earning potential

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with distributors, contractors, installers, architects, engineers, and other industry partners throughout the territory
• Expand existing accounts through consultative selling, upselling, product education, and responsive support
• Generate new business and increase market share by targeting contractors, distributors, vertical markets, and end users
• Identify and develop new distribution channels throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes region
• Track project opportunities, follow up on leads, and build relationships with key decision-makers
• Provide technical product guidance, education, presentations, and training to multiple audiences
• Assess customer needs, identify product gaps, and communicate market feedback to product-development teams
• Develop and execute strategic territory plans that support sustainable sales growth
• Collaborate with marketing to execute regional campaigns and sales initiatives
• Work with distributors on pricing strategies to remain competitive and win new business
• Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, and association meetings
• Monitor regional market activity, competitive products, and developing industry opportunities
• Share territory insights, successful strategies, and best practices with internal teams
• Independently manage travel, customer activity, pipeline development, and account priorities across a multi-state territory

Qualifications

• At least three years of sales experience within the roofing industry
• Proven metal-roofing sales experience required
• Established book of business and industry relationships throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes region
• Strong relationships with roofing contractors, distributors, architects, engineers, installers, or related decision-makers
• Experience growing existing accounts and developing new business
• Deep understanding of roofing systems, installation requirements, and field applications
• Experience managing a multi-state sales territory independently
• Strong negotiation, consultative selling, upselling, and closing abilities
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and product-training skills
• Strategic, growth-oriented approach with a collaborative mindset
• Self-motivated, organized, professional, and capable of managing competing priorities
• High level of integrity and commitment to professional sales practices
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Google and Apple platforms
• Must reside within the assigned territory
• Willingness and ability to travel 50%–75% or more, including air travel

• Single-ply or low-slope roofing, including TPO or PVC systems
