Shift Lead – Tuckshop (West Village)

Tuckshop is an Australian café in the heart of the West Village, focused on great coffee, quality ingredients, and simple food done really well.

We're looking for a Shift Lead to help run day-to-day service, support the team on the floor, and ensure every customer has a great experience.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy café environment, leads by example, and genuinely enjoys hospitality.

What You'll Do

• Lead shifts and keep service running smoothly
• Support and motivate the team throughout service
• Open and/or close the café
• Maintain high standards of customer service
• Assist with staff training and development
• Manage workflow during busy periods
• Help with ordering, stock management, and daily operational tasks
• Jump on coffee, POS, or customer service wherever needed
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards are maintained

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has previous café or hospitality leadership experience
• Is confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment
• Has strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Leads with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Is reliable, organized, and proactive
• Loves great coffee and quality food
• Can stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions

NEEDED:

• Barista experience
• NYC Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
