Financial Cash Analyst (Parent req.1341)

Job Description The Financial Analyst aka Cash Analyst II is an integral part of the Financial Services team, working closely with the Medical Center's daily incoming deposits. This role involves overseeing cash, check, and credit card transactions, ensuring their accurate recording and reconciliation. The Analyst is also responsible for identifying and resolving issues related to credit card receipts and deposits, interacting with depositors, and supporting the Analyst III and general accountants with monthly journal entries. This position plays a key role in monitoring and controlling fraud, working closely with accounts payable to verify and release payments to vendors. Additionally, the Analyst audits and balances input and reports, provides support to various departments, and initiates payments and transfers. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related area or four years of equivalent experience/training and one year of applicable exp. or a High School diploma and five years of experience. Working knowledge of financial processes, policies, and procedures. Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multitask in a high-volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and decision-making. Ability to function effectively as a member of a team. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. The ability to work onsite in Emeryville. Preferences Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff.
