Position Overview Do you like solving problems? Are you customer‑focused? Do you enjoy variety? Whether a routine maintenance call or troubleshooting a problem and finding solutions, our Field Service Engineers play a leading role in supporting the onsite technical needs of Epredia customers. In this highly autonomous role, you will spend the majority of your time at the customer, with travel up to 5 days a week as part of a national service team. No day or week will look the same, and your work will have a direct impact on patient outcomes. Location This is a field position with the ideal candidate located in or near the New Orleans, LA area. What will you do? Provide world‑class service to our customers by performing preventative and corrective maintenance for Epredia instrumentation. Use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of electromechanical instruments. Manage service call scheduling, parts inventory and other administrative necessities. Build trust‑based relationships with our customers. Interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, manufacturing and sales. Prepare periodic reports to management including compilations of customer complaints, trend analyses, and suggestions for improvement. Represent Epredia in a positive, professional manner in all dealings with customers, both external and internal. Be willing to be available after hours, or work a rotating on‑call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary. The Field Service Engineer must be able to travel to a customer site on a moment’s notice and remain on‑site for the duration of time required to perform the troubleshooting and repair functions. Assignments may involve long hours, night, weekend and holiday work. Employee may have to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Skills you need for the role Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related scientific field, or equivalent field service experience. Minimum of 2 years of field service experience supporting electronic or mechanical instrumentation. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic and mechanical equipment in a laboratory, medical, or technical environment. Experience reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams. Basic computer proficiency, including use of service software, email, and documentation systems. Valid driver’s license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to travel up to 80% to support customer sites. Experience servicing laboratory instrumentation. Experience working with laboratory information systems (LIS) or network‑connected instrumentation. What we offer Competitive hourly wage with overtime pay and a bonus plan. Non‑exempt (FLSA). The hiring range for this position is $55,500 - $80,000 plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
