Location: LA (Hybrid - in office 3 times a week in Culver City)

Salary: $59,000 - $66,000 USD (based on experience)

Reports to: Head of Educator HR

About the Role

As an Educator HR Generalist at Zen Educate, you'll serve as a direct support system and trusted partner to thousands of Zen educators. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to fully own your day-to-day work, while still being part of a closely-knit, collaborative team. This position blends essential HR compliance with internal team support, all designed to ensure our educators are safe, prepared, and set up for success.

What You'll Be Doing

• HR Operations, Case Management & Compliance
• Active Case Management: Manage an active volume of educator queries through the HR inbox and phone line with high urgency, aiming for rapid resolution within established HR processes.
• Employee Relations Escalations: Take ownership of initial employee relations workflows. Conduct thorough discovery, handle documentation, and process standard escalations efficiently.
• Documentation is an essential part of this role and must be prioritized.
• Administration & Compliance Precision: Execute core administrative tasks—including information collection, unemployment claims, and garnishment processing—with strict template mastery and adherence to compliance standards.
• System Tracking: Proactively update database systems, maintain detailed case logs, and ensure strict compliance protocols are hit across your assigned caseload.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Feedback Integration: Actively seek feedback on your performance from leadership and peers, leveraging it to optimize your daily operational workflow.
• Cross-Team Communication: Maintain transparent, proactive communication with local Account Management teams to ensure immediate operational issues are resolved swiftly.

What We're Looking For

• The Right Background: 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role is highly valued.
• System & Template Mastery: Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple moving parts, standard compliance processes, and administrative queues without losing attention to detail.
• Communication & Delivery: Confident and clear communicator capable of leading presentations, field questions dynamically, and facilitating both online and in-person sessions for diverse audiences.
• Comfortable having difficult conversations with a high level of emotional intelligence while adhering to compliance.
• Urgency & Problem Solving: A self-starter who excels at execution within a high-growth tech startup environment, viewing daily workflow challenges as opportunities to execute cleanly.

Team & Culture

In our Culver City office, you will work side-by-side with your manager, Burgundie, and collaborate in person with our Account Management teams to drive educator success. While you will primarily connect virtually with the broader HR team in other cities, our local culture thrives on radical collaboration and the entrepreneurial spirit needed to build lasting solutions. Hiring Process

• Round 1: Initial Screen (15 min) – An introductory call with a member of our Talent team to discuss your background and the role.
