Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Burn Nurse in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with critical burn injuries within a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. The position requires adaptability to float between UCSF facilities as needed, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a busy burn care unit.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year critical care experience including burn unit and pediatrics; certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Burn unit experience, patient ratio experience with 2 patients per shift during days and nights, familiarity with Epic charting system, prior travel within 12 months, and experience in a teaching hospital setting.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Skills: Arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, infection prevention, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure management, phlebotomy, procedural sedation, IV starting and maintenance, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, burn care procedures.
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
• Patient Census: Approximately 10 patients daily
• Additional Unit Information: Interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
