Human Resources Director / Scheduler Cedarvale Commons - Washington Court House, Ohio Join the Cedarvale Commons team and make a difference in the lives of our residents and employees! Cedarvale Commons is seeking a Human Resources Director / Scheduler to lead and support all aspects of human resources while also overseeing the facility's staffing and scheduling needs. This position is ideal for an organized, people-focused HR professional who enjoys building relationships, supporting employees, coordinating staffing, and creating a positive workplace culture. What You'll Do Human Resources Responsibilities Oversee all daily human resources functions for the facility Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes Maintain accurate and compliant employee personnel records Coordinate new-hire orientation and ensure required documentation is completed Manage employee relations, including coaching, counseling, and performance management Partner with department leaders to address staffing and employee concerns Monitor attendance, employee retention, and staffing trends Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment policies Coordinate employee benefits, leave requests, and other HR programs Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives Conduct exit interviews and identify opportunities to improve employee satisfaction Maintain knowledge of applicable employment laws and long-term care regulations Serve as a trusted resource and advocate for both employees and facility leadership Scheduling & Staffing Responsibilities Oversee the facility's daily staffing and scheduling needs Create and maintain employee schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts and departments Monitor staffing levels and proactively identify potential coverage gaps Manage call-offs, shift changes, open shifts, and replacement coverage Coordinate with department heads to ensure schedules meet operational and resident care needs Monitor overtime, agency usage, and staffing patterns Assist with recruiting efforts based on current and anticipated staffing needs Communicate schedule changes and staffing updates effectively to employees and leadership Maintain accurate scheduling records and ensure schedules are completed and posted in a timely manner Balance employee availability and preferences with facility staffing requirements Work closely with nursing leadership to ensure adequate clinical coverage Identify recurring staffing challenges and work with leadership to develop solutions What We're Looking For Previous experience in Human Resources; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred Previous scheduling or staffing experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters professionally Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with facility leadership Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related systems Experience with employee recruitment and retention strategies preferred Strong ability to coordinate staffing needs and respond quickly to schedule changes Ability to effectively balance employee needs with facility and resident care requirements Why Join Cedarvale Commons?
