Principal Systems EngineerThe Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Tucson, AZ location. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, Chief Engineers, Chief Technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters!As a Principal Systems Engineer you will support missile programs as a Software-focused Responsible Systems engineer, contributing directly to successful software requirements and integration for both fielded and development missile systems. These responsibilities include managing system and subsystem requirements, providing SE technical oversight during integration and test activities, participating in verification and validation efforts for the system, and providing SE expertise in troubleshooting and failure investigations. The Software-Systems role requires a high level of technical proficiency in the area of embedded software design, integration and test. This included multi-disciplined coordination, and establishing and maintaining relationships with the embedded software team and customer technical community.In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus with the possibility of occasional travel.What You Will DoUpdate and maintain all system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic and/or test systems softwareModel the system and the system development and production processes using CameoConduct Trade Studies and present results to customersSE technical contributor for verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are being assessedWork closely with the Systems, Software, Configurable Logic and Test teams on a variety of program technical tasksParticipate in technical conversations with the customerBecome a knowledgeable and 'go-to' Systems Engineer for the software centric program capabilitiesHelp to onboard new team members, mentor, and guide them using core Systems Engineering skillsQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.Experience in Systems EngineeringExperience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Development, Requirements Management, Requirements Verification, or Integration and Test for software productsQualifications We PreferMasters or PhD in Engineering, Math or PhysicsExperience using Agile framework development methods / processesExperience with Agile, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and/or Digital EngineeringExperience presenting analytical and technical presentationsExperience evaluating and mitigating technical risksA self-starter who can take on task with limited guidanceCustomer focus and collaboration skillsExperience with performance analysisExperience with DOORS and/or cPDMExperience using Azure DevOps methods/toolsExperience with Matlab, C, C#, C++, PythonAbility to perform trade studies to optimize system performanceUnderstanding of Systems Engineering Product Development CycleFamiliarity with system safety, reliability, and configuration managementExperience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification.Experience evaluating systems using simulated environmentsExperience generating technical documentation such as trade studies, test plans, procedures or technical reports.Experience in integration with test equipment, telemetry data analysis tools, and missile systems host platformsWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
