Join a dedicated team providing comprehensive evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and preventive care for musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. This role involves educating patients, families, and community members while acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess injuries, administer first aid, provide treatment, and coordinate follow-up care with physicians and specialists. Focus on restoring mobility and strength, preventing disability, enabling athletes to return to peak performance, and minimizing re-injury risks.
• Oversee rehabilitation programs and evaluate athletes' readiness to resume participation, collaborating closely with physicians.
• Provide coverage for in-season and off-season practices and competitions at middle and high school levels within the regional Midwest area.
• Manage supplies and equipment to ensure safety and readiness.
• Educate athletic directors, coaches, athletes, and parents on injury prevention, care, and rehabilitation, including taping, nutrition, and other relevant topics.
• Assist with the purchase and fitting of athletic equipment such as braces and bandages.
• Apply therapeutic modalities including heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage, and sports-specific exercises both on the field and in training rooms.
• Maintain and administer the training room.
• Participate in decisions regarding athlete transportation during events.
• Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation and communicate pertinent information to all stakeholders.
• Coordinate scheduling with the Sports Medicine Program Coordinator to ensure adequate coverage.
• Maintain certification through ongoing education and participate in training presentations.
• Adhere to program, department, and organizational policies and support the mission and values.
• Provide coverage for community athletic events as needed.

Education and Experience:

Graduate of a CAATE-accredited athletic training program or internship. Preferably one year of athletic training experience, though not required.

Licensure and Certifications:

Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the relevant state. National certification as an athletic trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC). Current CPR certification.
