Part-Time Daycare Cook

Schedule Monday – Friday 7:30am-12:30pm Pay $15.00 – $17.00 per hour (based on experience) Location 16225 E. Warren Ave. | Detroit, Michigan Job Description We are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Part-Time Cook to join our daycare team. This role is responsible for preparing healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a childcare setting and understands the importance of nutrition for young children. Schedule Monday through Friday 4–6 hours per day (daytime shift) No evenings or weekends Responsibilities Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children Follow approved menus and nutritional guidelines Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food storage areas Monitor and accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions Receive, check, and properly store food deliveries Keep records of meals, food temperatures, and inventory, complete food program paperwork Work with staff to ensure smooth meal service Requirements Previous cooking experience required (childcare or school setting preferred) Knowledge of food safety and proper sanitation practices Ability to cook efficiently for groups Strong time management and organization skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Preferred Qualifications Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience in daycare, school, or institutional kitchen setting Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift 25–40 lbs #J-18808-Ljbffr Agape Love Childcare Center LLC
