Automation Technician

Baxter seeks an Automation Technician to build, install, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment at its Round Lake facility. The role combines electrical and pneumatic expertise with hands-on troubleshooting to ensure reliable, safe equipment operation supporting healthcare product manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and troubleshoot electrical control panels, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and pneumatic devices
- Support equipment integration, factory and site acceptance testing, and field installations
- Diagnose equipment failures using electrical testing equipment and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to document changes and drive continuous improvement
- Provide technical training and guidance to plant personnel on equipment operation and maintenance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience in electrical controls, automation assembly, or industrial automation
- Strong knowledge of electrical controls, industrial wiring, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and CAD drawings
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and troubleshooting automated systems
- Technical training in electrical technology, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules as needed
Compensation: $72,000 - $99,000 base annually
