Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant (JN -072026-425938) Hanover, Maryland Salary: USD40 - USD50 per hour Our construction client is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team on a contract basis. This role will be heavily focused on full-cycle general ledger accounting , month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional who can quickly learn new processes, communicate effectively, work independently, and provide detailed examples of prior accomplishments. Candidates with public accounting experience are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances Support financial reporting and audit requests Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Collaborate with accounting and finance team members on special projects and process improvements Provide ad hoc financial and accounting support as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 4+ years of accounting experience Strong experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close Public accounting experience strongly preferred Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment #J-18808-Ljbffr Ledgent-Finance-
