Job Description

• The Masker plays a key role in preparing parts for processing by carefully shielding all surfaces that do not require treatment.
• This position focuses on applying tape or liquid masking to small parts, following detailed work orders and specifications, and ensuring each part meets quality standards before it moves to the next stage of production.

Responsibilities

• Apply tape or liquid masking to parts to protect surfaces that do not require processing.
• Process parts in accordance with shop work orders, applicable specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Follow detailed instructions from supervisors regarding specific tasks and masking requirements.
• Inspect incoming parts to verify their integrity and identify any damage, scratches, or other defects.
• Perform visual inspections throughout the masking process to maintain quality standards.
• Complete work orders and all required paperwork accurately, based on job requirements, drawings, and specifications.
• Handle parts with care and maintain manual dexterity while working with small components.
• Support general production and assembly activities related to paint preparation and masking.
• Maintain a clean and organized workbench and adhere to production department guidelines.
• Follow all safety procedures and shop policies while working on assigned shifts.

Essential Skills

• General production or manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Strong manual dexterity for handling and masking small parts.
• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects or issues.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate masking and paperwork completion.
• Ability to read and understand work orders in English.
• Accuracy in following specifications, drawings, and written instructions.
• Capability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, production, or assembly environments.
• Experience in paint preparation or similar finishing processes.
• Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality.
• Reliability in meeting shift schedules and supporting overtime when needed.

Work Environment

• This role is based in a production facility within the masking department, working primarily at seated workbenches while applying tape or liquid mask to small parts.
• Open positions include 2nd shift (3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.), with third-shift employees training on second shift for approximately 3–4 weeks.
• The position requires the ability to work 1–2 hours of overtime per day, and voluntary overtime is available on Saturdays.
• The environment is focused on consistent production, careful handling of parts, and adherence to shop work orders and specifications, with a practical, production-floor atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garden Grove, CA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
