Physical Therapist - Full Time

Physical Therapist Position

We're looking for a Physical Therapist to take on a full-time role in Alpena, MI across multiple settings. Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Michigan state Physical Therapist license required prior to start. Compact license not applicable.
• PT - Physical Therapist licensure is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 1 month of hire is highly preferred.
• Successful completion of employer-specific orientation and new hire competency.
• Ability to work in outpatient primary setting with periodic float to acute care.
• Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, home health aides, and students per regulatory standards.
• Ability to perform medium physical demands: occasional lift/carry 2150 lbs., frequent 20 lbs., constant 10 lbs., and frequent walking/standing.
• Ability to participate in mandatory annual OSHA training and comply with bloodborne pathogen and TB testing requirements.
• Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Windows or equivalent clinical documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications and Notes

• Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred. Occasional acute care experience is acceptable.
• Experience delegating and coordinating care with PTAs and support staff preferred.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Ability to work independently and manage caseloads, including case management responsibilities.

Position Details

• Location: Alpena, MI. Facility type: Multiple settings (primarily outpatient with occasional acute care float).
• Shift: Days. Typical schedule MondayFriday, approximately 9:00 AM5:30 PM. Weekend rotation required approximately one weekend per month.
• Duration: Direct hire, full-time position.
• Clinical duties include evaluation, development and documentation of treatment plans, patient/family education, billing documentation, recommending adaptive equipment, participation in interdisciplinary teams, and promoting PT services in the community.
• Position may require exposure to communicable diseases and use of personal protective equipment.
