The Controller Accountant plays a critical role in overseeing financial operations within our company’s construction projects, focusing on industrial, infrastructure, and commercial building sectors. Working within a small accounting team, this position manages comprehensive financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control to ensure regulatory compliance and support project success. With expertise in construction accounting and proficiency in tools like QuickBooks, Sage, and Procore, the Controller Accountant will enable sound financial decisions without the need for travel between sites. Responsibilities

• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monitor and control project costs to optimize expenses
• Oversee payroll and ensure timely payments
• Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with regulations
• Monitor cash flow to maintain financial stability
• Manage project-specific accounting activities
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support management decisions

 

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in construction accounting
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles
• Expertise in financial reporting and budgeting
• Experience with tax compliance and cost analysis
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Procore)
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA certification
