Unit Information Unit: Emergency Room Number of Beds: 28 beds, including 4 fast track, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 4 patients Common Diagnoses: High volume of trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psychiatric patients Clinical Requirements Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and preferred TNCC Dysrhythmia Test: Proctored test on-site, day one of employment Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Room nursing, with a focus on trauma experience preferred Travel experience is a plus Work Environment Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner Support Team: Hospitalist and Intensivist on-site 24/7, RT and Pharmacy available 24/7 Nurse Aides available, with EMTs assigned to each shift for technical duties No Unit floating expected Scheduling Information Shifts: 12-hour shifts - days (6a-6p), mids (varied start times), nights (varied start times) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holidays: Rotational holiday schedule as part of permanent staff Call Requirements: One day per month, and possibility of two during team's rotation Self-scheduling based on seniority, with shift schedules prepared at least two weeks in advance Orientation and Training Floor-specific orientation: 2-3 shifts for new hires Key Attributes The ideal candidate will possess leadership qualities conducive to fostering a collaborative and teamwork-oriented environment within the ER.
