Director, Oncology / INTO External Innovation
Johnson & Johnson
Director role leading external innovation strategy for Interventional Oncology at Johnson & Johnson. Responsible for identifying and executing partnerships with academic, biotech, and venture partners to expand the drug discovery pipeline and accelerate development of innovative oncology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate external innovation opportunities aligned with Oncology and Interventional Oncology strategies
- Lead multi-functional due diligence teams assessing novel partnerships, collaborations, and licensing opportunities
- Establish and maintain relationships with biotech companies, academic institutions, and venture partners
- Develop project plans and research strategies in partnership with internal stakeholders and external collaborators
- Present scientific and business rationale to leadership for approval and execution of opportunity recommendations
Requirements
- Expertise in Oncology, Immuno-Oncology, or Medical Device innovation
- Proven experience leading cross-functional diligence and deal evaluation teams
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders
- Background in external partnerships, licensing, or business development in pharma/biotech
- Knowledge of drug discovery pipeline development and clinical research strategies
- Organizational acumen to navigate matrix environments and drive decision-making
