Deputy Director - Idaho Youth Challenge Program (IDYCP) - 23734 USA:ID:Pierce | Full Time 43.57 - 49.38 USD per hour Posted 2 days ago | Apply before June 21, 2026 Summary This position is assigned to the Idaho Youth Challenge Academy (IDYCA), functioning with the Idaho Military Division (IMD). The primary purpose of this position is to administer the day-to-day operations of the Academy by providing management and oversight to staff functions on behalf of the Director, ensuring compliance with National Guard Bureau (NGB) program policies and requirements, and fostering an environment conducive to the successful education and rehabilitation of at-risk youth. The duty location for this position is on the IDYCA Campus in Pierce, Idaho. Qualifications Required: Must have and maintain a valid and fully privileged state issued driver's license. Provide license details; do not provide a copy. Must submit to and pass a drug test upon offer of employment and agree to periodic testing. Travel is required for training and job performance; must be willing to travel by all modes and stay at destinations for short periods. Must agree to complete training as directed (CPR, First Aid, NGB Youth Challenge Program courses). Must submit a resume with complete mailing addresses, telephone numbers, employment history, education, and at least three references. Must submit to and pass a Federal Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI) investigation and undergo periodic rechecks. Preferred: Degree from an accredited college or university. Professional management experience, including experience with military organizations or institutions. Required Experience Must have 36 months of experience performing work related to the following knowledge areas. Submit a paragraph for each requirement that demonstrates experience and competency. Knowledge of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program, including policy, requirements, national and state performance objectives, fundamentals, structure, values, and culture. Knowledge of organizational management techniques for strategic planning and operational plans. Knowledge of communication techniques for effective communication and influencing. Knowledge of managerial duties including counseling, training, coaching, performance management, workflow management, and resource allocation. Knowledge of good administration, organizational priorities, and problem analysis. Knowledge of building interpersonal relationships, consensus, priority setting, and budget management.
