Clinical Research Coordinator (Staff Wage)

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia is seeking a part‑time Clinical Research Coordinator, Non‑Licensed, to support the department’s clinical trials. The position is under the direct supervision of the CRC manager, with guidance from clinical faculty (Principal Investigators), and averages 20‑24 hours per week. Candidates should be available weekdays during standard business hours, with at least half on site. The role is onsite with potential for a hybrid schedule based on clinic needs and the candidate’s experience. Review clinic schedule and medical records to pre‑screen potential research participants. Maintain patient calendar and request study visit and exam appointments. Obtain informed consent from interested and eligible patients. Prepare, collect, and ship subject assessments such as surveys and laboratory specimens. Enter data into case report forms and electronic data capture systems. Review medical records for adverse events and notify the study team. File electronic documents and scans into appropriate drive folders. Additional administrative duties as assigned. This is a wage position, not eligible for leave or other benefits, and is limited to 1,500 hours of work per year. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or certifications. Experience: None required; 1 year experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Licensure: None required. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
