About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Wilmington, North Carolina, 28401!

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Utilize facility systems including Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
• Care for patients in isolation areas as required, including COVID-designated areas; stepdown-level patients are managed by stepdown staff
• May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

• Active RN license - NC state or Compact license (pending license acceptable for submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Must be available for hospital orientation during week 1, including daily classes (24-hour orientation total)
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; a local pay rate will apply

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

• Longer contract lengths (up to 26 weeks) offer stability and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within the care team
