About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, trauma, and general surgery cases including severe bone/joint injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, and subdural hematomas
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5-6; candidates must be comfortable with these ratios
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding areas, as needed
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC , Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and medication management
• Work every other weekend as required
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure considered for submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Ortho, Neuro, or Trauma experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

• ACLS certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted

• Flexible contract lengths ranging from 13 to 26 weeks, with 36- or 48-hour weekly contract options available
• No on-call requirements, offering a more predictable expected schedule
