About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses, maintaining a 1:6 patient ratio
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Apply a teamwork approach to patient care with a strong focus on patient safety
• Float to other units or areas within the facility as needed; travelers are expected to float first
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements, expected at approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per contract (every other weekend)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Open to floating within and near the facility per assignment needs
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates within 50 miles of the facility should be aware that a local rate applies

• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Prior neurology nursing experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience or willingness to learn the charge nurse role preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered

• Expected 36-48 hours per week with a flexible contract length of 13-20 weeks, offering stability and scheduling predictability
